I created a pattern in Adobe Illustrator and attached it to the 1 3/4 inch muffler pipe with spray on adhesive. I went with 7/32 holes. I picked up the two 12 in lengths of pipe at a local muffler shop. I started drilling the pattern 1 1/2 inches from the end. I made a PDF of this file. You can download it here.
